A new multi-family village-style development in the Township of Langley may prove tempting for homebuyers seeking a community to live, work and play.
Essence Properties has commenced construction on a massive 12-acre residential/campus across from the Langley Events Centre, with room for more than 2,000 homes and 32,000 square feet of commercial space.

Sales are underway in Jericho Park, the first phase of the three-phase master-planned community, which features 385 one-, two- and three-bedroom units spread across four six-storey buildings.
Prices in Jericho Park start at $524,900 for one-bedroom, one-bathroom units to the high $700,000s for three-bedroom homes.
Essence development manager Shivani Guglani says the floor plans range from 513 to 975 sq. ft, and each home type offers a den option.
“We do have some three-bedroom models that are more than 1,100 sq. ft in size, but those are very limited,” she explains.
The temporary sales centre on 78B Avenue in Langley Township’s Willoughby Heights district has fully staged one- and two-bedroom suites showcasing the Willow (light) and Onyx (dark) interior palettes. Standard options include wide plank engineered vinyl flooring in the main living areas, quartz countertops, Samsung stainless steel appliance packages and in a limited number of homes, large islands and full-height pantries.
Two buildings will have street-level commercial strata units, while the other two will have ground-floor garden homes that step out onto the street or face a central courtyard. The courtyard between the four buildings will have a playground, waterfall feature, barbecue area, open green space and two dog runs — one will be for small dogs, the other for large, Guglani says.

Two levels of camera-monitored underground parking will accommodate residents, guests and retail visitors, with EV rough-ins, bike storage and lockers.
Lifestyle amenities in Jericho Park include a multi-purpose room with a sports simulator, big-screen television and full kitchen, and exercise and co-working spaces. The rooftop lounge will have a putting green, another barbecue area and community planters.
Essence has been developing condos and townhomes in and around the Langley Events Centre for several years and has slowly amassed parcels of land on 200 Street for the ambitious multi-family project.
The Township of Langley’s vision to bring transit-oriented development to the 4.5-kilometre strip along 200 Street that runs from the Trans-Canada Highway south to 68 Avenue is part of the location’s attraction.
“Jericho is in the central core of the action. It’s close to Willoughby Town Centre and Willowbrook Shopping Centre to the south. Basically, we’re right in the hub of Township of Langley,” says Guglani.
Several businesses have already committed to commercial space in Jericho Park. A medical clinic, pharmacy, optometrist, dessert bar and a café are confirmed with active negotiations for a grocery store.
