Spring is the perfect time to clean and organize, not only your home but your crafting area too. Why do we do spring cleaning and when did spring cleaning start? It turns out this ritual cleansing has a long history. It goes back to the days of keeping warm through winter with open fires. Spring brought warmer weather which meant the fires were cleaned up, and soot removed from the inside of the home. Why spring? We literally don’t have the energy to deep clean during colder months, I barely have the energy in summer either, so spring is somewhere in the middle of being able to tackle a huge job at hand.
My tip for spring cleaning is set little goals, focus on one room, or cupboard at a time otherwise you will find yourself overwhelmed with stuff and give up.
Some of my favorite ways to organize my crochet yarn are with these clear shoe boxes,
I can see what I have, they stack nicely and my yarn stays clean.
