First things first: This mattress is plush. So plush it threw me off the first time I flopped onto it. I thought I chose the firmest option and it felt, well, not firm. But this was just me unfurling the mattress in the middle of my living room because my old bed was still set up and I wanted to try the Aurora Mattress out ASAP. Turns out lying on it next to your coffee table and yoga mat is not the same thing as getting a full night’s sleep.
After sleeping on the mattress for a few days, I realized that it was firm, I just didn’t feel it. The support is deceptive, invisible almost. A real Princess-and-the-Pea situation but if the princess was a stressed-out 30-something and the prince was a life without shoulder pain.
There are three foam layers on the top of the mattress, a cooling CopperFlex foam layer closest to your body, a TitanFlex layer in the middle, and memory foam at the bottom. Below all that you’ll find a layer of coils and a base of foam. Like a club sandwich of comfort.
Overall, I found this mattress to be lovely. If you are someone who likes to sink into bed, it’s great; if you’re not I would say that this is not your match. But overall I woke up feeling refreshed and less achy and look forward to the moment I can ease back into all of that foam once more.
