Halloween has bubbled out of the cauldron early this year as Disney celebrates their Halfway to Halloween holiday. As part of the spooky fun, Disney is giving guests a peak into some of the most eerie attractions at the Disney Parks around the world with a free virtual tour taking place on YouTube.
The self-guided, interactive tour is hosted by Uncle Deadly from The Muppets and some of the talented folks from Walt Disney Imagineering. They’ll take you through the halls of the Haunted Mansion at Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort, the Mystic Manor at Hong Kong Disney Resort, and the Phantom Manor at Disneyland Paris.
As you travel through the great beyond with each of the 999 happy haunts, you’ll learn secrets behind the attractions, including how some of the illusions on each ride functions — from how the “music dust” inside Mystic Manor actually works to how the pet cemetery at Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion has been redone to focus more on the story of each beloved creature.
During your Haunted Mansion tour at Walt Disney World, be sure to watch out for the one-eyed cat, who has an alluring backstory many guests who visit the attraction don’t know about. And at Disneyland Paris, you’ll learn the backstory of the attraction and why it’s located in Frontierland.
The entire loop takes about 20 minutes to complete and is filled with thrilling tidbits about the iconic attractions. At the end of the journey, you’ll get a sneak peak at the all-new “Muppets Haunted Mansion” special — courtesy of Gonzo and King Prawn — which premieres this fall exclusively on Disney+.
Disney’s Halfway to Halloween event culminates with a TikTok Live Event on May 8 at 10 p.m. EDT. During the event, viewers will get a behind-the-scenes look at the Haunted Mansion attraction at Walt Disney World with Walt Disney Imagineering and have special guest appearances, including Madame Leota.
