Many of us have electronic devices, electrical equipment and computers in our homes. High voltage or Chint Low Voltage can lead to damage, which for many types of electronics or devices are usually irreparable. You can do things to protect your goods, and it’s easier than you think.
Power Surge
The standard supply of electrical voltage at a frequency of 50HZ is 220/230 Volts. When the voltage exceeds standard and flows at a higher frequency and voltage, power supplies occur. When the normal voltage is exceeded, a current arc may occur. This produces heat – and this heat causes damage to an electronic circuit board and therefore to an apparatus or electronic device affected. Surges during a power grid switch, or if a malfunction occurs in a close transmission line or transformer, can occur unexpectedly. Load shedding and even a lightning strike during an electric storm may lead to power surges.
Smaller power rises are possible when high power supplies such as a refrigerator or air conditioner go on and off too often. In general, the engines and compressors of these devices require a significant amount of power to switch on and off. If so, the normal voltage flow is interrupted leading to an increase. Damages caused by smaller power surges can accumulate over time and incrementally. Installing more permanent damage could be caused by an increase, but smaller disturbances usually shorten the lifetime of a certain device or device over time.
Ways to prevent the damaging effects of a power surge
- When not in use or during an electrical storm, disconnect electrical equipment and equipment from the plug source. This helps to save your assets, reduce the risk of damage and even conserve precious energy.
- Be sure that your power outlets are not overloaded, especially those devices that use high electricity amounts. Precious products such as computers, laptops, TV’s or web modems or routers, should not be connected to the same power supply as they generally use a lot of energy, and should also have vulnerable circuit boards. - Use a power strip to shield the surge. Such power strips with an integrated surge protector usually include a fuse intended to fail when a voltage spike is seen. When this occurs, the power supply will not flow into your plugged device or plugging device and prevent harm during an operation.
- Cross check are the harm caused by a power boom in your plan? It is a good idea to ensure that your plan takes 100% account of the many risk situations that your assets may face; giving enough protection if an increase in electrical energy occurs, which results in a need for repair or replacement.
