In the past year, lots of the messages to the GPOD have mentioned how important gardens have been to all of you in dealing with the COVID restrictions and keeping emotionally healthy during this difficult time. But today, Rhonda Molin in southeastern Pennsylvania is sharing a pretty amazing way she was able to use her garden to safely celebrate something wonderful.
Due to COVID, we had our daughter’s wedding in our backyard on October 3, 2020. We used white mums with black ornamental peppers, and we added lighting where we thought it was needed. It was so much fun. I would do it again!
Rhonda’s garden is lovely, with lots of layers of perennials and shrubs looking great for the October COVID-safe wedding.
This beautiful outdoor fireplace served as the backdrop for the ceremony.
Roses, the ultimate floral symbol of romance, bloom in the garden for the special day.
Lights added through the garden highlight the beauty and transform it into a magical space.
The happy couple share a kiss.
Guests, keeping safely socially distant, celebrate the happy couple in the beautifully lit garden.

We’d love to hear where you are located, how long you’ve been gardening, successes you are proud of, failures you learned from, hopes for the future, favorite plants, or funny stories from your garden.
