The insurer’s score on the 2021 Corporate Equity Index was 100 for the third year in a row.
Farmers Insurance released an announcement including its score of 100 on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation 2020 Corporate Equity Index. This represents the third consecutive year that the insurer has received this top score.
This index is the top benchmarking survey and report measuring workplace equality in corporations.
A high score on this index from the Human Rights Campaign foundation means that a company’s corporate policies and practices are positive with respect to LGBTQ workplace equality. Farmers Insurance is among 767 major companies in the United States that have earned top scores for 2021.
“Our commitment to diversity and inclusion is the foundation of our culture, and we strive to foster an engaging and dynamic workplace that supports employees in bringing their whole selves to work,” said Farmers Insurance CEO Jeff Dailey. “It’s an honor for the Human Rights Campaign to continue recognizing our efforts to ensure a secure and inclusive environment for all.”

This recognition from the Human Rights Campaign Foundation followed a difficult year in 2020.
Considering the devastating impact of the pandemic last year, as well as the spotlight that was placed on racial injustice, 2020 was an unprecedented year for the country as well as the companies within it. Still, it was clear that certain businesses took this as an opportunity and stepped up to continue the high priority they have given to LGBTQ equality.
“This year has shown us that tools like the CEI are crucial in the work to increase equity and inclusion in the workplace, but also that companies must breathe life into these policies and practices in real and tangible ways,” said the president of Human Rights Campaign, Alphonso David. “Thank you to the companies that understand protecting their LGBTQ employees and consumers from discrimination is not just the right thing to do—but the best business decision.”
The Human Rights Campaign Foundation is the education branch of the largest civil rights organization in the United States. Their goal is to achieve equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people.
