The project started with the complete transformation of the floor plan to make it more functional—something particularly important to the family. The previous kitchen became a bedroom, the old office is now the current kitchen, and the bathroom occupies what was once the service stairwell. “The new layout was created from putting together two apartments,” Olivia says. “We removed some walls; all the spaces were optimized; the storage was integrated into the thick walls to avoid having big furniture; and many pieces were custom designed, such as the headboards and cupboards.”
The custom-designed bookshelves by GCG are painted in Vert Antique by Argile. The large Concorde table is by Poliform and the chairs are by Fragonard.
The bench was designed by GCG and created by Toiles de Mayenne. The Urana table in terrazzo and brass, designed by GCG, is surrounded by Anthropologie chairs. The lighting fixture is by Lambert & Fils.
The design of the apartment (which took five months) had to be perfectly adapted to the owners’ intense lifestyle while cultivating a soft, relaxing atmosphere. “They can have dinner in the kitchen, which is, however, not too big,” says Olivia. “There are large spaces to host family and friends, an area dedicated to the children including a playroom, and a peaceful bedroom facing a courtyard for the couple.”
In the kids’ room, the corridor cutouts peek through the doorway.
This corridor, with a row of IKEA hanging lamps, leads to the playroom.
The ceiling in this part of the kids’ room is painted in Lulworth Blue by Farrow & Ball and the curtains are by Little Cabari. The custom rug is by Marguerite Le Maire.
The bright colors and exotic decorative elements that give personality and add a contemporary twist to the spaces were inspired by travel. “We highlighted the classic side of this apartment while colors, materials, wallpaper, and pieces of furniture evoke a contemporary journey around the world,” says Olivia. “The idea was to feel both in Paris and everywhere at the same time.”

Balance the old and the new. The architects restored the beautiful classic Parisian elements such as the fireplaces and parquet flooring, while adding colorful contemporary pieces of furniture to create the perfect mix.
The main bathroom was adorned with Kelly and Unis tiles by Popham Design (colors Flamingo and Milk). The shower is made with waxed concrete from Mercadier.
This corner of the bathroom feels like a tropical paradise, with tiles by Popham Design alongside Paradiso wallpaper by Erismann.
