Sometimes it’s nice to just whip up a small project that does not take too much time. This charming shooting star design from Amy Loves to Sew is just such a project.
Ideal for beginners, Amy suggests using denim for the fabric. Not only does it look great, it is a handy way to recycle those old blue jeans you don’t know what to do with.
In addition to standard hand embroidery supplies, you will need the following items:
- 10cm embroidery hoop
- Fabric
- Embroidery Floss
- Needle
- Tracing Paper
Amy provides the downloadable pattern which you can scale to any size. The stitches used include the back stitch, split stitch, and french knots.
This tutorial has wonderful photos which demonstrate every step of the embroidery process. Not only that, but there are tips to help you out.
Wouldn’t this be a sweet little wall hanging in a baby’s room?
