If Only… derelict shops could be transformed into museums, wonders Rob Neal, associate at Wright & Wright Architects

If Only…
Vacant shops transform into mini national museums, distributed throughout the struggling high streets of the UK and further afield. With only a select few things on display, each object is a calling card for a larger museum, place of worship or another community asset, and creates a window into that communities history.
Physical and intellectual barriers to learning are broken down and world-class objects are displayed in easily digestible and comfortable environments. Communities can learn and engage in familiar surroundings. The high-street museum is the starting point for an onward journey of learning and discovery for all.
Arrived early for your train? Got some spare time in town? Why not kill time in the 10-minute museum?
