Could you knit for 12 hours straight in support of a charity? I know my body couldn’t handle it, but I love the idea of Knit for Food, a 12-hour knitathon hosted by Laura Nelkin as a fundraiser for Feeding America, World Central Kitchen, No Kid Hungry and Meals on Wheels.
Participants can sign up as team members and raise a minimum of $100 to be listed on the team page. You can raise funds yourself or simply donate to the cause. The event, which is Sunday, April 11, from 10 am to 10 pm Eastern, will include a private Zoom link (the event will also be livestreamed on YouTube).
The day’s events will include music, knitting and crafting demonstrations, speakers and more, and of course you do not actually have to knit (or craft) for the full 12 hours to participate.
