Ready for some Saint Patrick’s Day rainbow fun? Just take a look at this pretty design from I Should Be Mopping the Floor. It’s bright, cheerful, and loads of fun. It is also not hard to make, especially with the detailed step by step instructions provided.
At first glance, it looks like the embroidery fabric used was rainbow striped. However, if you take a closer look (and there is a great up close photo provided), you will find that the rainbow stripes are stitched on. How creative!
To make this project you will need standard embroidery supplies including a 14″ hoop and various colors of floss. Along with those items you will need some green felt and a strand of mini pom poms to go around the outside of the hoop. The stitches used in the project are the backstitch for the rainbow, and the blanket stitch for the shamrock.
It may look difficult, but it really isn’t. The designer also points out that if you don’t want to stitch so many rainbow stripes, you can space them out more.
