We all know puzzles have gotten a lot of us through the pandemic as a pastime, but what about LEGO? If you’re an adult LEGO lover (ahem, me) you know how many of their sets have been out of stock over the last two years. It seems like more people have been jumping on the LEGO bandwagon (welcome!) as a fun alternative to puzzles. And if you think about it, they’re kind of like three-dimensional puzzles. Another thing that saw skyrocketing interest during the pandemic? Plants. If you combine the two beloved pastimes together, you’ll get the two latest releases – LEGO Succulents + LEGO Orchid – from LEGO as part of their expanded Botanical Collection. If you haven’t mastered the art of keeping plants alive, grab one of their botanical sets for a zero-maintenance, always healthy looking option with no watering required!
The LEGO Succulents set features nine individual succulents in their own containers that can be arranged together in infinite ways or independently. The set includes three separate building instructions allowing for lots of ways to build the flora. Real life succulents are fun and all… until you under or overwater them, making this set a great option!
They say having succulents in a room helps you focus, and we hope this set gives the same feeling. We wanted to create a set that offers a relaxing and mindful building experience to help adults switch off from their busy lives and to most importantly re-focus on something they enjoy.

If you’ve ever had an orchid, you know how hard it is to keep them alive and blooming (R.I.P. to every orchid I’ve owned). The LEGO Orchid set is a playful alternative to the real thing or you can always mix it amongst a bunch of live ones. The faux orchid features six large flowers and two freshly opened flowers which can be arranged in various ways to create your own perfect arrangement. The flowers sit within a LEGO built pot with “bark mix” pieces to make it look even more real. You can even customize and rebuild the orchid any time for a new look.
The design of this set was inspired by a real Orchid we had in the office throughout the design process, so we could see how the flower changed through the seasons. A challenge with this set was creating a cylindrical pot from LEGO elements that would be fun to build but also beautiful to look at.
