Minnie Mouse Diaper Cake
Minnie Mouse diaper cake is the perfect decoration for your baby shower! It’s easy to make and it looks so adorable. The diapers are rolled together to create the shape of Minnie Mouse. With the attachment of a simple bow, and a few ribbons, this cake comes together in a short time and will be the showstopper of the baby shower.
Of course, I also love this diaper cake bassinet idea (check out the Mickey Mouse in it). Another personal favorite is the owl diaper cake and you can’t go wrong with the train diaper cake!

Can I Make This a Mickey Mouse Cake Instead?
If you wanted to make this a Mickey Mouse diaper cake instead of a Minnie Mouse diaper cake, you will want to change the ribbon to black and red. You will also want to skip the bow. Alternately, you can make a red and black bow tie to go along the base of the head. Of course, it can be easily turned into a Minnie Mouse, Mickey Mouse, or even just a big mouse with no theme1
Can Diaper Cake Diapers Be Used?
Some people want to make this diaper cake as a decoration only. In those cases, people tend to glue or staple them together. In other cases, people want to use the diapers. It is easy to use the diapers as long as they have not been fastened together with glue or something else that would damage the diapers.
To make sure your gift can be used for the diapers as well as for looking cute, be careful about how you attach the diapers. My favorite methods are to use rubber bands or ribbon to tie things together. Then, for adding ribbon or gifts, I use double-sided tape or make sure to only attach to the bands holding them together.

How Are Diaper Cakes Used?
This Minnie Mouse diaper cake can be used as a decoration in the nursery, as a decoration on the gift table at the baby shower or for parents to have diapers for the baby. Most often, it is given as a gift to new parents and then used as part of the decor until the parents are ready to use the diapers included.
If you want the diaper cake to be used as both a decoration and for the parents to use the diapers, try using a larger size diaper. This gives the parents “time” to display the Minnie Mouse diaper cake before deconstructing it to use the diapers.
How Many Diapers Do I Need for a Large Diaper Cake?
Depending on the size of the cake and the size of diapers, you will need 30 to 75 diapers. The number also will depend upon how large you want your Minnie Mouse head to be once finished. You can make them smaller with just a few diapers, or even make one of each. A smaller Minnie and a smaller Mickey would
Ways to Customize a Disney Inspired Diaper Cake
Customizing diaper cakes is one of the best parts of making them. Not only can you make them match the baby nursery decor or personality of the receiver, but you can also add unique gifts alongside it that add a bit of personal love to the package. Below are some great ideas for making your own diaper cake unique.
- Use different colors for ribbon and paper to customize the look.
- Add glitter on the edges of the bow, or spray the bow with glitter before putting on the diaper cake.
- Attach eyes or a nose using foam, felt, or googly eyes on the face.
- Make the base out of baby clothes, Swaddlers, cloth diapers, or blankets instead of diapers.
- Add tulle or a tutu skirt to the bottom of the diaper cake to create a skirt for Minnie!

Supplies Needed
How to Make a Minnie Mouse Diaper Cake
Begin rolling diapers into a roll and securing each one with an individual rubber band.
You will need between 50 and 60 diapers, depending on how large you want your diaper cake to be.
Stack two groups of 8 to 10 diapers together on their ends to create a larger group and secure it with a rubber band or ribbon around the center.
Then, do the same thing with the remaining diapers, using 15 to 20 per round.
Wrap one of the larger bundles of diapers, and the two smaller bundles of diapers with a length of red paper or tissue paper and staple or tape to secure them in place.
Glue the two smaller bundles of diapers to the top side of the larger bundle that is wrapped in red paper. This will be the Minnie Mouse head.
Now, place the red and white checked ribbon on the center of the red paper around the diapers, and wrap it all the way around the “head” securing with staples/tape/or glue every few inches.

Fold the red foam paper in half, and cut out a bow by cutting a heart shape onto the foam that is folded, but leaving the center end intact.
Unfold this, then cut out several circles from the white foam paper.
Glue the white circles onto the red foam bow. Add a small piece of foam paper in a straight line/rectangle on the center of the bow to look like a ribbon.
Then glue or attach the foam bow onto the Minnie Mouse head between the two smaller rounds.
Stand the head up on end, and sit it on top of the larger bundle of diapers that is only wrapped in ribbon. Secure with paper clips or clothespins for more stability if needed.
