There’s condos built in factories that support this with like no structure changes. My friends place is allowed to tear off the roof and build up a few more floors. Redoing the elevator sounds like a huge hassle though for their older tenants.
I wish we had building codes in cities that required UHPC cores for further development even if it was subsidized. We’re going to want to build horizontal skyscraper levels between buildings later for luxury living with skywalks and there just won’t be the support columns for it. With this poor foresight it seems like urban planners don’t even want upper/lower level based class systems in society.
