For the past two years, Australian furniture brand Eva has been working on creating a sofa bed that was equal parts clever and comfortable — and we’ve got one to giveaway!

Eva’s head of design Tom Shaw says the new Slideaway Sofa Bed was designed to challenge the bad reputation of sofa beds.

Endless bad night’s sleeps inspired the team to create something in response to the flimsy futons and complicated fold out couches they’d encountered in the past. They came up with a unique slatted mechanism that easily transforms the sofa into a double bed with one gentle pull. You can also slide the sofa into a clever ‘daybed’ mode that allows you to stretch your legs, so it’s technically a 3-in-1!

The contemporary design combines best parts of Eva’s Timber Bed Frame and the Everyday Sofa. In line with the B-Corp brand’s sustainable ethos, the durable timber frame is crafted from responsibly sourced solid American Ash and birch plywood, while the cushions are made from offcuts produced during Eva’s mattress manufacturing process.

One of the best parts is the highly durable and pet friendly material on the upholstery is also machine-washable, so you know the sofa bed will last for years to come.

You can take your pick from five timeless colours, including marble white, moss green, oatmeal, terracotta and olive. And just like all of Eva’s fuss-free products, the sofa bed requires no tools to assemble it and is available for a 100-day trial.
