Jil created an amazing side border from wax paper and stitching down lots of dies, papers and images for this Holiday Cookies page. She’s also got lots of layers of papers, doilies, paint splatter and more. Find a link to her process video on The Cherry on Top blog.
This beautiful page has a roll of pattern paper across the center with greenery tucked behind that has been used to hang paper “ornaments” from. Above it are photos, more greenery and a wintery house. I spotted this idea on the Vickiscraps Instagram page.
If you love sewing try adding it to your layouts. Lisa used a stitching die cut file that creates the holes for sewing and made a colorful gingerbread house for her sweet page. She added die cut clouds and a dimensional title for even more texture. Visit the Paige Taylor Evans blog for a closer look.
This adorable page has layers of tags, loads of printed die cut images, bakers twine and stenciled gold paste behind the images. Take a closer look on the Hey Little Magpie blog.
This charming layout has trees made with layers of pattern papers and scallops, a banner of flags and super cute critters everywhere over a textured, painted background. I came across this idea on the cityscrapper Instagram page.
This pretty Poinsettia page has a bright green ink spray watercolor background that coordinated with the green in the pattern papers. There are also many layers of pattern papers, each section with a mat behind. The wonderful 3D flowers are made with stamps and dies, spritzed with water and shaped. Find directions on the Heartfelt Creations site.
This festive layout has a beautiful border of handmade trees across the bottom made of layered triangles cut from coordinating pattern papers, each topped with a gem. Learn how to create this page on the Creative Memories blog.
Emilie created a modern Christmas tree with string zig zagging through grommeted holes, adding some sequins and paper ornaments to the string. Along the way are also three cute photos make to look like larger ornaments. It’s offset with a rolled border down one side for an interesting balance. I spotted this design on the emiliechamel Instagram page.
This magnificent masculine mixed media layout has lots of wintery blues and touches of brown with fun techniques like stenciling, paint, 3D flowers, die cutting, crackle paint, splatters, gesso, distressing and more. Learn how this page came together on the Clear Scraps blog.
Wanting to make a detailed design but don’t have much time, try going digital. It’s quick and easy to add lots of layers, textures and patterns using digi elements like this charming Elf page. I came across it on Tracermajig’s gallery at Scrapbook.com
And lastly this stunning design uses new products from Tim Holtz’s Holiday line of products with 3D bottle trees, metal accents, crackle paint, wooden window, pattern papers and two cute little vintage girls (you can use you’re own fussy cut photos instead). Learn more at the That’s Life blog.
