College is the perfect time to discover new things — and for me, I discovered “slutty brownies.” They’re one of the easiest yet most impressive desserts out there, consisting of three layers: cookie dough, Oreos, and brownies. According to my half-assed internet research, the OG recipe is from Kevin and Amanda (who then called them cookie dough Oreo brownies), but it was seemingly The Londoner who first used the term “slutty” to describe this dessert. No matter what you call them, they’re quick, easy to make, and easy to enjoy.
Not to brag or anything, but I’ve never gotten a bad review. They’re perfect for any occasion like a dinner party or movie night, or even bringing them into the office for a bunch of your coworkers. (My coworker Ola recently described them as “chocolatey lusciousness.”) One of the best parts, though? Everything is store-bought. Like, yes, you have to prepare the brownie mix but if you make brownies from a box mix it’s maybe two extra steps and the payoff is more than worth it.
How to Make Slutty Brownies
I timed it and you can assemble them in just about the time it takes for your oven to preheat. NGL, the hardest part of the assembly was, literally, opening the tub of cookie dough.
After you grease your 9×13-inch baking pan, put down a layer of cookie dough. Cover the bottom of the baking pan with a layer of cookie dough. Then, add the mini Oreos (I arrange them in rows and columns because I am not chill). Prepare the brownie mix according to the instructions on the box and pour it over the other two layers. I use a knife to make sure the batter covers the Oreos.
Bake it at 350ºF for about 40 to 45 minutes. I usually use the toothpick test to check if they’re done. Let it cool in the pan (but I rarely make it until it’s “completely cool” and honestly it’s been fine).
Biting into a slutty brownie is a decadent experience. After all, it’s three desserts in one! You get a little of every layer in every single bite. IMHO, it’s one of the ultimate dessert combos. They’re almost too easy to make — the definition of a low-effort, high-reward recipe. I’ve not met one single hater (except for people who don’t like chocolate which is … ).
