Helen’s Crossing is an Etsy shop selling cross stitch patterns, kits and pillow covers based in New York. There’s a bit of snark here (but maybe not as much as Cross Stitch Traveler) but also plenty of pretty floral patterns, holiday designs and more.
One of the biggest categories in the shop is flowers, and there are all sorts, from dandelions to poppies, asters to roses, sunflowers to snowdrops. There are also quite a lot of Christmas cross stitch patterns, including quotes from movies, funny sayings and some more traditional designs.
I guess maybe what I’m trying to say here is there’s something for everyone, whether you like your stitches salty or sweet, pretty or punny.
And when there’s such a wide selection it’s hard to pick one to share in a photo, but it really had to be this Ned Flanders cross stitch pattern, even though I haven’t watched The Simpsons in years. The pattern uses eight colors and measures 132 by 128 stitches. That comes out to 9.43 by 9.14 inches or 23.95 by 23.22 cm when you use 14 count fabric. The pattern says it’s suitable for beginners, and that’ probably true because it’s mostly big blocks of color and a fair bit of lettering.
In addition to hundreds of cross stitch patterns you can instantly download, the shop also have more than 300 cross stitch kits to choose from if you like getting all your supplies at once. Many of these have text on them but there’s a wide variety here, too. Most fit in a 6, 7 or 8 inch hoop and the kits come with the hoop, fabric and floss, as well as a needle and the color-coded pattern.
The storefront also includes a few decorative pillow covers but they are not cross-stitch related so that’s all we’re going to say about that. Check out all the fun patterns, kits and other goodies at Helen’s Crossing.
