A new bakery, deli and diner in the Adelaide CBD called Bottega Bandito, designed by CTRL Space, has opened.
Given a design brief of “nostalgic, cozy and progressive,” CTRL Space, which has offices in Auckland and Brisbane, has created an interior that draws from the key features of Italian cafes and bars: intimacy, character and sensory intrigue.
CTRL Space Australia’s director Jess White says, “Bottega Bandito is a hugely loved institution in Adelaide so we needed to provide a space that matches the expectation and excitement of the offering.
“We wanted it to be a little more adventurous, a little more unexpected and a little more evocative, whilst celebrating the classic details of an Italian cafe. I believe we’ve achieved just that and I’m excited to see the response from the public,” says White.
The modern delicatessen and café is nestled on a corner site and features “retro” details and a bold and unexpected palette. Booth seating and low pendants add to the diner aesthetic, as does a row of high stools to the bar and service area. Warm timbers, textured glass and marble add intimacy to the space.
