Luxury lifestyle brand Rove Concepts’ has just released a new furniture collection in collaboration with singer-songwriter John Legend. The Journeys Collection has rounded edges and is designed to encourage people to slow down and let their minds wander, says Rove Concepts’ CEO and founder, Art Lee.

The Journeys Collection
At Rove Concepts, they’re inspired by art, design, culture, fashion and by people who lift others’ spirits, making the world a better place, says Lee. John Legend is one of these people, he says. Along with his music career, Legend is a successful entrepreneur who is active in many pursuits.
At Rove Concepts, style is about being authentic and expressing who you are and what you like in a world that’s constantly changing around you; Lee says: “In working with John, we approached this collection as if it were a musical composition, with each piece representing or echoing the fundamental elements of a musical composition. We observed that the worlds of music and design merge in many ways, sharing foundational elements. For instance, harmony and rhythm (repetition in design) are crucial in both interior design and music composition.”
A distinctive colour palette
The Journeys Collection has a distinctive colour palette that goes beyond neutrals, aiming for warmth and a retro vibe, says Lee.
“John has a strong appreciation for vintage, classic and timeless elements. This was a crucial factor in shaping the direction of our creative campaign. Our entire visual assets and hero spot are heavily influenced by adding a touch of vintage. From filming with a real 35mm film camera to incorporating vintage storytelling props, such as record players, vinyl, retro keyboards, etc., these supportive motifs spark the ‘inspiration’ and reflect John’s journey in taste and how it had been shaped.”

Lee says Legend’s personal esthetic and life experiences are reflected in this collection, which celebrates the art of living well.
“John also mentioned to us that in home design, he seeks the intersection of beauty, art and comfort. I believe we’ve truly captured this in The Journeys Collection.”
Why John Legend?
Rove Concepts chose to collaborate with Legend because they appreciate the soulfulness of his work, says Lee.
“We wanted to capture the same depth and warmth in our designs that John brings to his music, making him the perfect partner for this collection.
“Plus, his commitment to quality, inclusivity and creativity mirrors our own values. We couldn’t have chosen a better match than John,” he adds.
How did this collaboration come about?
They met through mutual friends who suggested this collaboration, says Lee. He quickly recognized that Legend would be the perfect brand ambassador for Rove Concepts, as his journey through music and culture aligns perfectly with their exploration of taste and design.
Has Rove collaborated with any other well-known artists, musicians, etc?

“While we haven’t officially collaborated with other well-known musicians before, we have worked with numerous amazing individuals who excel in their respective fields, including tennis legend Maria Sharapova, who teamed up with Rove Concepts to bring her passions for art and architecture to life — her first-ever home design collaboration that pays homage to her life as an athlete, designer, art enthusiast, and entrepreneur. Maria’s collection remains one of our most successful collaborations, and her pieces continue to be staples in our catalogue to this day,” says Lee.
What’s next for Rove Concepts?
“This year has been about exploring new ideas, deepening our design expertise, and encouraging people to explore their style and tastes, especially in their homes. Because home is a place worth celebrating,” says Lee.
The Journeys Collection is available online and in-stores in Vancouver, Toronto, Los Angeles, San Diego and Miami.
