Today we’re off to New Jersey to visit Sini’s garden.

A small greenhouse in a snowy landscapeI’m SO JEALOUS of this greenhouse! What a perfect escape from a snowy, cold winter to have a little greenhouse full of green growing things!

Greenhouse surrounded and filled by growing plantsThe same greenhouse in the summer, with tomatoes growing inside. Simple greenhouses can be useful in the summer as well as the winter, helping heat-loving plants thrive in cool-summer climates.

Pink magnolia blossoms against a bright sunsetIt’s hard to decide which is more beautiful—the sun lighting up the sky or the abundant blooms on the saucer magnolia (Magnolia × soulangeana, Zones 4–9).

redbud in full bloomA mature redbud (Cercis canadensis, Zones 4–9) covered with its iconic magenta spring blooms. This tree, native to eastern North America, is not only beautiful in the garden, but its edible flowers are beautiful scattered over a salad.

Rhododendron PJMA spring scene of what looks to be the classic Rhododendron ‘PJM’ (Zones 4–8), which is one of the most beautiful and most easily grown of the rhododendrons.

Blue iris flowers with trees and shrubs behind themBearded irises (Iris hybrids, Zones 3–9) come in a mind-boggling array of colors and patterns, but it is hard to beat this classic, rich blue.

Two chickens with several baby chicks on and around themHOW CUTE! Baby chicks hanging out with some attentive hens.

Japanese maple in fallIncredible fall color from a Japanese maple (Acer palmatum, Zones 5–9)

A pathway covered with fallen red leavesThe leaves may be even more beautiful forming a carpet of scarlet on the ground.
